Local Internet Registry (LIR)

We allocate and assign both IPv4 and/or IPv6 address space to beneficiaries for use over the SA NREN network.
Local Internet Registry (LIR)

TENET acts as a Local Internet Registry in the AfriNIC service area and holds number resources for the benefit of smaller institutions making use of our Network Connectivity services. IPv4 and IPv6 addressing is negotiated with individual institutions when they sign up for connectivity.

TENET also holds and operates the lowest autonomous system numbers (ASN) in Africa, dating from the early days of the Internet under the UNINET Project.
